Error in calculation leads to unusually full honor roll

A mistake in calculating the third quarter Sun Prairie High School honor roll resulted in about 80 percent of students being named to the document and drew national attention -- including this Chicago Tribune article.

In the original document distributed by the district, all students with a grade point average of 2.0 or higher were listed. The actual threshhold for the honor roll is 3.0.

After making the correction, the list's ranks dropped from about 1,300 to 700.
