Is Sun Prairie native and world-renowned artist Georgia O'Keeffe going to attract visitors our community.
The Wisconsin Department of Tourism thinks so. Consider this article from the Greater Madison Convention and Visitor Bureau's latest newsletter:
Georgia O'Keefe, Aldo Leopold and Chris Farley.
Seemingly so different, yet all of them were original thinkers. This is the core of a brand promise that the Wisconsin Department of Tourism will communicate in their newly released brand platform.
The brand platform seeks to celebrate Wisconsin's culture of original thinkers, and showcase destinations where imagination and creativity abound.
Gov. Jim Doyle unveiled this brand platform at his annual Governor's Conference on Tourism in March.
As Governor Doyle stated in his speech, "Because of the passionate nature of the state's people to create fun, express themselves in original ways and feel more comfortable doing it here than anywhere else, in Wisconsin originality rules."
As for O'Keefe, Leopold and Farley -- those original thinkers were all from the greater Madison area.
The Department of Tourism will define the brand through a strategic framework that includes a new theme line, advertising concepts and marketing materials.
