It's no joke -- you have some important decisions to make April 1.
Chief among them is who will represent you on the School Board. Five candidates, including two incumbents, are vying for three open spots.
In the race with current board members David Stackhouse and Mary Ellen Havel-Lang are Jill Camber Davidson, Al Slane and Terry Shimek.
To help you make an educated decision, we've asked each candidate to write a short essay on why you should support them. Their responses will appear on this site next week, along with some biographical information.
Common Council race
There's also a contest for District 4 alderperson, with John Muller challenging incumbent Michael Bruhn.
We'll be providing their responses to some key questions as well.
All other council seats are uncontested: District 1, Hariah Hutkowski; District 2, Jonathan Freund; and District 3, Rodney Weber.
Share your thoughts
Up until election day, Sun Prairie Today will publish letters to the editor supporting candidates. Such correspondence must be signed. Letters should be no longer than 250 words.
Line item veto question
In addition to local and regional votes, you'll be asked one state referendum question on the governor's partial veto authority: "Shall section 10(1)(c) of article V of the constitution be amended to prohibit the governor, in exercising his or her partial veto authority, from creating a new sentence by combining parts of two or more sentences of the enrolled bill?"
Absentee voting
The City Clerk's Office will be open additional hours for absentee voting and voter registration.
Voters who are not registered may also register during the following hours, or at the polls on Election Day.
Thursday, March 27, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Friday, March 28, 2008- 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Food drive
