I will be voting on Tuesday, but will this be the final referendum? When short-term solutions keep being put to a vote, nothing is getting solved.
Sure, we can talk about monetary comparisons and how it affects us now. But in a few years, there will be another referendum vote to expand on facilities again, requiring millions of dollars.
I received an informative packet from my child's school discussing how the middle schools are nearing capacity. We just added on to both schools only a couple years ago.
Then, let's look at the break up of the school grades. 6-7, 8-9, 10-12? We have been given a few examples of this configuration. Is this the right choice, when the documentation discusses returning to the traditional 6-8 junior high configuration in the future?
I see a trend here. We need to look at the people associated with the District Board and the school planning team. This is ridiculous that this discussion has gone on this long. Make the proper discussion now. I would rather take the hit on my taxes now and make the long term investment.
As it stands now, we are going to take a hit and will again in the not too distant future.
