New family pleased with C.H. Bird's personal attention

Hello Sun Prairie Today:

With the 2006-2007 school year officially over, I wanted to share with you and your readers what a superb school we have in Sun Prairie's C.H. Bird Elementary.

When my family and I relocated to the Madison area last summer we chose to live in Sun Prairie after researching and hearing great things about Sun Prairie schools.  Now that we have one year under our belt, I want to share how pleased we are. 

As a new family to Sun Prairie and to C.H. Bird School, the school year started with a personal phone call from Principal Chad Wiedmeyer.  He called me to check in, see if we had any questions or if there was anything he could do to help before the first day of school.  We greatly appreciated him taking the time to do this -- it meant a lot and set the tone of sincere concern and care for our children's upcoming school experience.

Our children's teachers continued on this path, welcoming our family and helping our children feel welcome to C.H. Bird and their classrooms.  This laid the foundation for a successful year of  learning for our children. 

I am so impressed with the enthusiasm, professionalism, skill and overall high quality of every teacher and staff member I met throughout the course of the year. 

A special thanks goes to Mrs. Sue Birkinbine, Mrs. Laura Smith, Mrs. Schiefelbein and Mrs. Schultz. 

What a great school we have in C.H. Bird!  It is truly a model of a well-run school and a place where all children can learn.
