What? Who are the 96 randomly(?) chosen residents who have been asked to weigh in on recommendations for the High School Planning Team? Randomly chosen from the "yes" group? Didn't we have an election that had a 2-to-1 ratio of votes against two high schools?
At the time we had over 1,500 students in the current high school. So why now is there nearly the same ratio against a school larger than 1,500 students. Is the school board again being deceptive to force two schools into Sun Prairie by stacking the deck with this "random" group?
Why on TV the other night, after hearing that the new elementary school passed, did some man state that this is good and maybe we can get passage on two or three high schools. Yes, he said three high schools.
I voted for the elementary school and I still want one high school. Maybe I should have voted against it. I encourage others to stand up to the dictators that will continue to waste time and money until they get two or maybe three high schools.
This community voted against two high schools. In my opinion if that means two buildings with 9th and 10th separated from 11th and 12th, then so be it.
Based upon realistic projections, each of those buildings should be built to house around 900, and expand with additions when needed to at least 1,200 and a max. of 1,500.
We don't have a decent theater, pool, baseball fields, soccer fields, track, and add what you want with one school, let alone possibly multiple high schools. If anyone moving here wanted smaller they should have moved to Waunakee, DeForest, Marshall, etc. Then we wouldn't have this problem.
